We ❤ Babywearing

(while Black).

Hi, I’m NaShira Bennett, one of the Co-Founders of Black Babywearing Week and creator of Babywearing While Black. You can call me Shari. I'm a mom of three wonderfully artistic and rambunctious youngsters, all of whom I've breastfed and worn from birth to around three to four years old. My oldest will be eleven this year and my youngest is four. Saying that reminds me of my own age and the reason I decided I wanted to share this amazing gift from our ancestors called "babywearing" with everyone desiring to learn.

I believe that everyone should have access to the best available support when learning how to use baby carriers, because I remember what it was like to be overwhelmed by endless amounts of video tutorials.

As Black Babywearing Week approaches, you can be sure to find professional support from my Babywearing Academy and Network. I will be hosting several events in the upcoming weeks both virtually and on location. We will cover topics like benefits, choice, care, safety, and much more.

I genuinely love babywearing and would be honored to share this knowledge with you. It is my hope that all babies are worn by their caregivers to support healthy attachment and all the physiological benefits that babywearing provides.

Thank you for joining us.

The revolution will be carried!™

♥︎ Shari
